The two little words "Thank You" seem pretty insignificant to express the deep gratitude I feel for the love and support of family, friends and neighbors. There is no way to make it through challenging times without that kind of support. I hope everyone who has blessed our lives knows how much they mean to us. Throughout the crazy summer of hospitalizations we were overwhelmed with love and prayers from people close to us... and even complete strangers. Thank you so much....
Here are just a few pictures showing such an outpouring of love. I wish I had a picture for every kind act both big and small. Please know that each and every gift, visit, meal, kind word, thought and prayer was so appreciated!

It made our day when the young women in our ward came by with a huge card, candy bar poster and a hand made tissue flower arrangement. The handmade cards, books, movies, and games that were brought over for Makelle to pass the hours were also so appreciated! These girls are the best! We love you!

Rebecca Sharp is Makelle's amazing Young Women President. She helped us out so much this summer! She showed up at the hospital for visits just at the right time every time! When we needed a yummy treat or a big hug after a bad day... She was always there! It was especially exciting when she brought along some of our favorite people with her! This blog would never have started without her and her talented friend Jeri. Much love to you!

Everyone needs an Uncle Adam to show up in your hospital room with a Taylor Lautner poster to hang on the wall. Makelle will never forget the loving nod from Uncle Adam as he proudly unrolled the poster and taped it up with medical tape. The book Aunt Becki brought is now one of Makelle's favorites.

Super cute boots from Aunt Sue!

If it wasn't the middle of the summer I could have sworn it was Christmas time. The doorbell would ring and another kind gift was left for Makelle. Our stairway banister was lined with balloons.
Some of the most cherished memories I have of the summer is all of you who sent your love and concern our way. Warm bread, an extremely caring Relief Society President, a cupcake on the doorstep, fresh vegetables from the garden, phone calls, visits at home and in the hospital, emails, dinner, hearts taped all over the house as we arrived home from the hospital, a grandma who is willing to come at any hour of the night, Aunts and cousins who take Brenna so she won't have to be alone while we are gone, and sweet prayers are worth more to me than gold. These things show me how blessed I am.
I am in awe of those who so willingingly have offered to even give part of thier liver to Makelle. What selfless, loving people surround me.
One of the most touching things I have heard is that our sweet little Lucas prays for Makelle. If you don't know Lukie, he is my cousin Allison's sweet little boy. He is two and was born with a rare disease called chronic intestinal psuedo obstruction. He has had a lifetime of hospital stays and lifesaving tubes to carry around. He too faces a future of challenge and transplants. But this sweet little angel takes the time to pray for Makelle. I know that these prayers and all the other loving prayers are what keeps 'the little liver that could' going.
Love to you all!
